Classic country, bluegrass, swing
On my first day in LA, August 1rst 1963, I started to work at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood as a drummer with the Gene Davis Band. In '65 I went to work on the road with Roger Miller, and later, did a live album at Carnegie Hall with the late Freddy Fender. Back in town, I returned to the clubs with Jerry Inman, and Tony Booth back at the Palomino. There I backed Joe Maphis, Skeets McDonalds, TG Shepherd, Moe Bandy, Doug Kershaw, Hank Williams Jr, Hank Thompson, Johnny Rodriguez, Molly Bee, Wanda Jackson, Larry and Lorie Collins, Tanya Tucker, and too many more for me to remeber... All in all I ws there 12 years in the house band, with my friends Al Bruno, Jay Dee Manes, and Delaney Bramlet, and was awarded the ACM Drummer Of The Year 11 years, and Best Non Touring Band for 4 years.
